A new Board was elected during the 25th General Assembly of TermNet held on 1 October.
Frieda Steurs was confirmed President for a second term, as was Klaus-Dirk Schmitz in the position of Vice President. Georgeta Ciobanu of the University Politehnica in Timisoara (Romania) is the new second Vice President.
Other Board Members include Judit Muráth (University Pécs, Hungary), who also serves her second term on the Board, Lola Bendana (Multilanguages Corp., Canada), Rodolfo Maslias (TermCOORD, European Parliament) and Petra Dutz (SDL, D-A-CH Region).
The General Assembly is the major governing body of the TermNet Association. It is held annually, usually via the Internet to allow as many participants from the various world regions to participate. The TermNet Board is elected every 3 years from among the Members. It nominates the Executive Committee, consisting of President and two Vice Presidents who are the official heads of the Association.
